Cemetery Guidelines

(1)  Until further notice, the fee for all cemetery plots in Sections 1 and 2 (both in what is called the old cemetery) is $150.00 each, to be placed in a perpetual care fund.
     (a)  There will be a waiver of cemetery plot fee for Sections 1 and 2 (both in old cemetery) if spouse is already
            buried there.
     (b)  Persons with plots already marked off as of December 1, 2002, but the fee not paid, have the opportunity    
            of reserving those plots for $150.00.  All plots marked but the fee not paid, could be declared vacant.
     (c)  Plots in Sections 1 and 2 (both in old cemetery), may only be reserved by spouses, sons (son-in-law),
            and/or daughters (daughters-in-law) of members of Bethel Baptist Church, or by close family relatives (as
            determined
            by Bethel Church), of those already interred in the said Sections.
     (d)  Any special situation/circumstances will be heard by the Cemetery Committee and referred by
            said committee to the Bethel Baptist Church benevolence committee.

(2)  Cemetery Plots in Section 3 (referred to as the new Cemetery) are $300.00 each, to be placed in a perpetual care
       fund.

(3)  Vaults are required for every burial, unless the deceased in cremated.  If the deceased is cremated, the ashes
       shall be placed in an appropriate container/urn.

(4)  Grave sites are not to be opened without a member of Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Committee, or Church
       Staff being present.
     (a)  It is recommended the grave opening and closing be done by hand.  If not, there should be a $100.00
           deposit for the purpose of landscaping the grave site.  After a period of one month following internment,
           the deposit will be refunded provided the grave site is landscaped by family.
     (b)  In most circumstances, the church reserves the right to require the grave be opened by hand.

(5)  A Bethel Church Cemetery Committee Member, or Church Staff Member must be present when
       headstones/monuments are set. 
     (a)  All grave/foot markers (not including headstones/monuments) must be level with ground.
     (b)  There shall be no further construction, coping, or planting, other than grass/sod, on grave sites.
     (c)  Funeral/decoration flowers left on ground at grave site must be moved within two weeks after event.

(6)  Cemetery gate (to be installed later) to be opened from dawn until dusk daily.

(7)  Cemetery plots may be obtained only from Cemetery Committee Members or from Church Administrator.  All
       financial transactions and plot recording must be done through Church Business Office.
